Zimbabwe Changes Name to AAA Zimbabwe

Briefs in a BriefHarare, AAA Zimbabwe (SatireWire.com) – Zimbabwe today officially changed its name to AAA Zimbabwe, vaulting 188 places in the United Nations Membership Directory in an attempt to catch the eye of anyone browsing for country-related products and services.
“The Directory is alphabetical, so if your fingers were walking through the member pages looking for a country, we were dead last,” said AAA Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe. “But when the new Directory comes out in the fall, AAA Zimbabwe will top the list, and hopefully, people will call us first for all their national needs.”
While the change will require new business cards and signage, it was much cheaper than taking out a display ad, said Mugabe, who added the new name will not affect the quality of service customers have come to expect. “We’re still the same Zimbabwe that non-white farmers know and trust,” he said.
However, Zimbabwe will likely be supplanted at the top if AAA United Kingdom and 123 Slovakia have their name changes approved before the Fall/Winter 2003 directory goes to print.
