WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MISSING BUDGET PAGES?
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Set to ram through a budget that would lay the groundwork for most of President Bush's proposed tax cuts, chagrined Republicans in the House of Representatives instead yanked the measure in the wee hours on Friday when they learned two pages of it were missing. ``I'm not sure I can tell you precisely how those two pages were missing,'' said House Budget Committee Chairman Jim Nussle of Iowa. -- Reuters, May 4, 2001
