Night Ranger Concert Nets $98 for Victims
Albany, Ga (SatireWire.com) — Once-famous rockers Night Ranger held a benefit concert in the Piedmont Taproom of the Albany Holiday Inn last night, donating all ticket proceeds from this stop on its new U.S. tour to victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The band raised an estimated $98.48.
Nearly two dozen people paid the $4 + tax cover charge to hear the 1980s group, whose hits include "Sister Christian" and "Rock in America." Several audience members said they were thrilled to be a part of a such a magical evening.
"I really just went to the bar for a drink, but that Lone Ranger was pretty good," recalled 45-year-old Bruce Handstern, a school supply salesman staying at the hotel. "Plus it was 99-cent buffalo-wing night."
"I love this country, but I was disappointed that Night Stranger didn't play Free Bird like I asked 'em," said Christina Pleal, a taproom regular.
Added Night Ranger drummer Kelly Keagy: "We'll be rockin' for America at the Piedmont Taproom through Friday."
